Captain's Reports
It is wintertime at the port.
Well the cold fronts have finally started to come on down. The big reds are bunching up and when you get into a mess of them it can make for some exciting fishing. With the colder water we are seeing the flounder start to running, and the black drum are in too. So fishing is still pretty good. You just have to pick your days, and watch the weather very carefully. The preferred bait for the time is gulps or cut mullet or live shrimp when you can get it. We have still been doing pretty good on gulps though. There aren\'t as many boats out now so it isn\'t as crowdwed as in the summer months. Everybody must be out hunting. Speaking of hunting: I am guiding on the SACSAYHUMAN RANCH this winter. the ranch is located just north of Raymondville about 10 to 12 miles. The north fence borders the KING Ranch Norias section. We have some realy good management bucks, Nilgai, turkey, and hogs. The prices are very reasonable for a quality South Texas hunt. Give me a call and we can discuss it. Or go to www.kenedycountyhunting.com for more details. Now is the time to start thinking about your 2008 fishing trip. Give me a call and we can get you and your group set up for a great adventure.
